High temperatures are continuing to scorch Southern California ahead of Independence Day, and the threat is far from over.

Daily highs in the triple digits are expected in numerous places, with the hottest days beginning on Thursday, July 4, and continuing through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

In the Antelope Valley, for example, highs on Thursday could hit 115 degrees, which the Antelope Valley Press notes would be a record.

Officials continue to urge the public to stay hydrated, avoid going outside during the hottest times of the day and wear light, loose-fitting clothing. For more tips, click here.
