An evacuation warning has been issued in Sun Valley for the area surrounding La Tuna Canyon Road. The warning affects residents on La Tuna Canyon starting at Martindale Avenue to the east, Penrose Avenue to the south, Ledge Avenue to the west and Horse Haven Street to the north. A 19-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday after four people were killed in a shooting and found inside a burning Lancaster home. The suspect was identified as Miguel Sandoval, 19, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

On Nov. 16, shortly before 1:30 a.m., deputies responded to a shooting at a home on the 44500 block of Tabler Avenue. Authorities believed a party was being held at the residence during the deadly incident.

A nearly $60 million settlement was reached after claims that more than 1,200 people were sickened from exposure to a gas leak at the L.A. Department of Water and Power's Sun Valley Generating Station, attorneys announced Thursday.

The lawsuit alleged the LADWP endangered the largely Black and Latino-populated communities of Sun Valley and Pacoima when it failed to prevent the gas leaks, sickening nearby residents for years.
