The Costa Mesa Police Department has released new details surrounding the grisly discovery of a woman's body inside a trash can on Tuesday. 

Neighbors told KTLA that the victim was found in a trash can in the backyard of a Costa Mesa home. The Costa Mesa Police Department confirmed those reports Wednesday morning and identified the victim as 38-year-old Julie Anne Sanetra of Irvine.

Fans honor Dodgers legend Fernando Valenzuela

Fans are remembering Fernando Valenzuela, the Mexican-born phenom for the Los Angeles Dodgers who inspired “Fernandomania” while winning the NL Cy Young Award and Rookie of the Year in 1981. Valenzuela died Tuesday night. He was 63.

His death comes as the Dodgers prepare to open the World Series on Friday night at home against the New York Yankees. Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred said Valenzuela would be honored during the series at Dodger Stadium.
