An international student attending UCLA has been detained at the U.S.-Mexico border as the administration of President Donald Trump continues to cancel student visas across the nation. In a statement, via the university's student-run newspaper The Daily Bruin, UCLA Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications Mary Osako confirmed that a graduate student was in custody.

This week, interim LAFD chief Ronnie Villanueva released a memo, indicating that nearly a third of fires in LA over the past six years involved homeless people.
