More than 12,000 young people are homeless in California on any given night, and the nonprofit Covenant House California has been working for over 35 years to help youth in crisis by providing the support and tools they need to succeed.

Mary Dolan, Covenant House California's director of development, joined us to discuss their annual Sleep Out event on Nov. 21. Thousands of people will give up their beds for one night in solidarity with youth experiencing homelessness.

Family members are upset after they say mice have been repeatedly seen inside a nursing home in San Fernando Valley. Cell phone video captured a mouse running across the floor inside a bedroom at the Sherman Village Healthcare Center in Valley Village.

A driver was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after they crashed their vehicle into an LA Metro train in South Los Angeles.

The collision happened in the Florence-Graham neighborhood near the intersection of Nadeau Street and Graham Avenue on the Metro A Line—a segment of railway that is not separated from vehicle traffic. Metro officials said the driver broke through a crossing gate and hit the northbound A-line train at Nadeau.
