Video obtained exclusively by KTLA shows the terrifying moment a road rage suspect opened fire on the driver of another car on the 5 Freeway in Los Angeles, fatally wounding him and seriously injuring a passenger.
The shooting occurred Thursday afternoon around 4 p.m. on the northbound side of the 5 near South Lorena Street in L.A.’s Boyle Heights neighborhood. Police say that, in the moments leading up to the incident, a gold Cadillac and a dark-colored SUV, said by police to be a Dodge Durango, were involved in some sort of altercation, which escalated into a shooting.

Friends, family and community members gathered at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church for a celebration of life honoring Los Angeles broadcaster and former KTLA reporter Warren Wilson.
Wilson died at the age of 90 on Sept. 27, 2024. He spent more than 40 years as a broadcast journalist, including 21 years at KTLA, and was one of the first Black broadcasters in Los Angeles when he started in the market in the 1960s.

Police are searching for a suspect connected to a deadly shooting at a sports bar in El Monte. Officials confirmed in an update that a second gunshot victim, a Hispanic woman, was transported to a nearby hospital prior to the arrival of officers. She was said to be in stable condition. Witnesses told police that another woman was shot but left the scene; as of 7 a.m., investigators were still searching for her. KTLA 5's Kimberly Cheng reports. (Oct. 12, 2024)
