The Los Angeles Chargers didn’t do themselves any favors during the Week 12 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in primetime.
First, the Chargers did some harm to their playoff positioning in the AFC. Their postseason chances are still good, but remaining more in the conversation in the AFC West would have been nice.
Second, though, is how the Chargers suffered a setback in the narratives department. With another loss to a good team, onlookers were more than happy to point out that the Chargers have yet to beat teams with impressive records this season.
Tack on some Quentin Johnston slander (zero catches on five targets, multiple drops) for the resurfacing of his drop issues and these reactions are the result:
You show up against Derrick Henry and give him 94 yards AFTER contact, and this is the result. The Chargers defense got beat up physically tonight. Plain and simple. Don’t think we need to make any sweeping declarations about that unit or this team tbh. The playoffs are still…

The Chargers have beaten no one this year. The Bengals are their best win and they’re 4-7.

It took me 11 weeks and I finally trusted Quentin Johnston enough to desperation start him in a good matchup.

I should’ve known.
You gotta stop putting Quentin Johnston out there.

As the @chargers melt in this 4th quarter… this is who they’ve been all season. 6-0 against teams with losing records.. just 1-3 against teams over 500. Dangerously close to going 1-4 and seeing any chance of the AFC West title slip away

The Chargers are an alpha WR away from contending for a Super Bowl. They need one desperately, and I think Ladd is a world-class second WR, not a 1.
