In many ways, the 1980 film classic “Airplane!” is a time capsule: a specimen of comedy whose time has passed, filled with off-color humor that would likely result in protests if the movie were released today.

KTLA’s Frank Buckley sits down with David Zucker, co-director and now co-author of “Surely You Can’t Be Serious: The True Story of Airplane!” to reflect on that era and share stories from the making of the movie.
