Michael Curtis Hernandez, a 37-year-old construction worker, was booked on rape and kidnapping charges Wednesday, according to the Tustin Police Department.

Investigators say the rape occurred on Sunday, after the suspect grabbed the female victim, then forced her inside his Tustin apartment.

Hernandez has an “extensive history of prior arrests,” police say, including convictions for kidnapping, false imprisonment and child annoyance.

His bail was set at $1 million.
