Rebecca Eileen Diebolt was taken into custody in a shopping center parking lot on East Imperial Highway in Brea, according to a news release from the Placentia Police Department.

She was booked at the Orange County Jail with bail set at $100,000.

The investigation began on June 4 when the alleged victim told police she was in a sexual relationship with Diebolt from 2004 to 2008 while she was a student at the school, the release stated.

The victim said she became friends with Diebolt when she was about 15 years old. That relationship eventually turned sexual, police said.

The victim told police she and Diebolt had multiple sexual encounters in the teacher’s classroom as well as her home, according to the release.

The sexual relationship allegedly continued after graduation and while the victim attended college as an adult, police said.

Detectives were trying to determine if there were any additional victims.
