A CNN crew was caught in the middle of an exchange of gunfire between Iraqi forces and ISIS while recording a segment on the outskirts of Mosul recently.

The video released Monday showed reporter Nick Paton Walsh, his team, and the Peshmerga caravan they were traveling with.

Walsh, who was speaking on camera at the time, can be seen ducking as the sounds of gunfire are heard in the background.

CNN’s crew is the first Western media outlet to have travelled along the road into Mosul.

Neither Walsh nor anyone on his team were injured in the skirmish.
