Comedy actor and “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt made good on a Super Bowl bet over the weekend with fellow Marvel Universe actor Chris Evans when he visited a Boston children’s hospital.
“I got a chance to see some awesome kids and celebrate Christopher’s Haven,” Pratt told CNN after Friday’s visit.
Pratt, a Seahaws fan, and Evans, a Patriots fan known for playing Captain America in multiple Marvel movies, engaged in a Twitter “feud” over whose team would win the Super Bowl before last week’s dramatic conclusion.
Initially, the two bet that if their team lost they would visit a children’s hospital in the winning team’s city.
Pratt, dressed in Star-Lord attire, would wear a Tom Brady Jersey for the duration of his visit, and Evans would wear his Captain America uniform while waving a Seattle 12th Man Flag, the Boston hospital stated on its website.
The details were expected to remain the same, but after the Patriots won the big game, both actors agreed to visit a Boston’s Christopher’s Haven hospital and Seattle Children’s Hospital together.
“It was good and you know, hopefully there’s a rematch next year,” Pratt said.
Dozens of photos and tweets showed the actors posing with smiling children during the Friday visit.
“It was awesome. Chris Pratt is my favorite actor and I was happy to see him here,” Kenny Botting, a cancer patient at the Boston hospital said. “I mean, like it is not normal to have a superhero come and see you.”
One of the children’s mothers described Pratt and Evans as the “nicest guys.”
“They were so genuine. They were here they just wanted to play with the kids,” Erin Campbell said.
The bet has raised $26,000 so far, CNN reported through its wire service.
“It was great for us. We’ve raised money. Seattle Children’s Hospital raised money and turned out to be a win for everybody. Nobody lost except the Seahawks,” Joyce Duvall with Christopher’s Haven said.
