A 28-year-old mother accused of sexually assaulting her two daughters and then sending photos of the assault to a prison inmate’s cell phone has been arrested, police said Friday.
Highland police got a call from officials at Kern Valley State Prison on Aug. 6 after they allegedly located heroin and a cellphone during a search of an inmate’s cell, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
On the cellphone, authorities allegedly found photographs of Evelyn Alvarez sexually assaulting her two daughters, both of whom are minors, the Sheriff’s Department stated.
Alvarez allegedly took the photos herself as she assaulted the girls, and then sent the photos to a prison inmate, who had the cellphone hidden in his jail cell, according to investigators.
The inmate was identified as Juan Bravo, who is currently serving a life sentence in state prison.
Alvarez was arrested at her home in Highland and booked into county jail on allegations of lewd acts with a minor.
She was being held on $250,000 bail.
