Three suspects were arrested in Anaheim following a shooting at a Lancaster gas station left a woman in critical condition early Wednesday, officials said.

A toddler who was inside the victim’s car did not get hurt in the incident that happened at East Avenue I and Challenger Way, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Video from the scene shows a Jeep SUV by a gas pump at a Mobil gas station, its driver’s window shattered and the door stained with traces of blood.

Lancaster station deputies responded to the scene after receiving a call about a shooting victim just before 1 a.m., sheriff’s Deputy Shawn Du Busky told KTLA.

The officers arrived to find a woman in the driver’s side of the vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds to her upper body, Du Busky said. A 1-year-old boy was in the backseat, unharmed, the officer added. The Sheriff’s Department previously described him as being 3 years old.

“Our deputy kept him occupied and distracted so he wouldn’t notice what was going around him,” the Lancaster sheriff’s station said.

Family members were later seen picking up the child as deputies assessed the scene.

The woman, initially identified by the Sheriff’s Department as a 30-year-old but later described as someone in her 20s, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, officials said.

Lt. Clinton Skaggs earlier said a robbery had occurred, and that the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Surveillance footage might have captured the incident, Skaggs added.

Later Wednesday, officials said they were searching for three suspects in connection with the robbery and shooting, two men and one woman in their 20s.

L.A. County sheriff’s surveillance units spotted the suspects in Anaheim, and they were apprehended following a brief pursuit by Anaheim police, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.

All three were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and evidence was seized during the subsequent serving of a search warrant, deputies said.

Officials did not identify the suspects in custody. No further details were available.
