Police responded about 2 a.m. to a possible burglary in progress call at the Whiteridge Apartments in the 17700 block of Lassen Street near White Oak Avenue.

A woman was found with a stab wound to her neck and transported to a local hospital in stable condition, an officer at the scene said.

The victim was identified only as a woman in her 30s. She is not a student at the school, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Lomeli said.

There were no immediate details on the person arrested in the stabbing, however, authorities said the attack may not have been random.

No motive for the stabbing was released.
