Los Angeles police were asking for the public’s help in locating a hit-and-run driver who struck a woman and her 5-year-old grandson Wednesday morning and left them lying in the road in the Westlake neighborhood.

The collision occurred around 7:45 a.m. on Beverly Boulevard, just east of Robinson Street (map), according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The car was traveling eastbound on Beverly Boulevard when it struck the two pedestrians as they were crossing northbound, the release stated.

The car, described as possibly an older model gray Lincoln Navigator, continued eastbound on Beverly Boulevard after the crash, police said.

Emma Cermeno, 48, was taken to the hospital where she was listed in stable condition. Her grandson was in serious condition.
