Keion Jones was the older of two children killed in the crash, which occurred near the Red Rover Mine Road off-ramp around 6:30 a.m., Jonny Jones told KTLA. The second child, a 1-year-old who was ejected from the vehicle, has not yet been identified.

Another 8-year-old — Keion’s twin sister Kimora — was also injured but is recovering in the hospital, according to Jones. She has a broken arm, but is conscious and able to speak.

“They have her highly sedated on medicine. She’s in a lot of pain,” Jones said.

Karen Adams, the children’s mother, was paralyzed from the waist down and on life support, he said. Another 14-year-old was also last reported to be in critical condition.

Jones is reaching out to the public for help paying medical expenses and funeral costs for his son.

“We’re just asking for prayers … anything that can help my family — please, I’m begging, please,” Jones said, breaking down into tears.  “My son needs all the help he can get.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for medical and funeral expenses for the family.

Adams, the mother of the three young children, was driving the vehicle when it overturned, according to Jones.

An investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing, and investigators are still working to determine a cause.
