Parades, ceremonies and other observances are being held in honor of Veterans Day across Southern California Wednesday. A sampling of planned events is below.

Every year, the Los Cinco Puntos/Five Points Memorial in Boyle Heights hosts a ceremony and a 24-hour vigil where volunteers stand guard over the site’s memorials. This year’s ceremony was set to begin at 11 a.m.

A live and in-person event was being held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. The day’s events began at 9:30 a.m. and were set to include a program honoring all branches of the military and a flyover. The program was livestreamed on the Reagan Foundation’s YouTube page.

A virtual Veterans Day parade was also set to be held in the San Fernando Valley, where veterans were expected to participate in a drive-thru event. A livestream of that event is also available on YouTube.

Forest Lawn, the cemetery business, also streamed a virtual celebration from 11 a.m. to noon.

The city of Santa Clarita streamed its virtual ceremony in honor of veterans at 11 a.m. The ceremony was expected to include a Coast Guard flyover and a moment of silence for veterans who have passed away.
