Two Ventura teenagers were arrested after they held up a woman with an unserialized gun and robbed her of her purse.
The teen boys, 14 and 17, approached a 41-year-old woman walking on a path in the 800 block of Harbor Boulevard at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night, the Ventura Police Department said in a news release.
After “brandishing a handgun at her,” the boys “took her purse and fled westbound on bicycles,” the release said.
They weren’t on the run for long, however. An officer spotted them in the 400 block of North Ventura Avenue about 25 minutes later, police said.
Officers found a loaded gun without a serial number — commonly referred to as a “ghost gun” — and “some of the victim’s stolen property,” police said.
The boys were booked into juvenile hall on charges including armed robbery, possession of a loaded gun, possession of a ghost gun and criminal conspiracy.
