A pedestrian died on Pacific Coast Highway early Friday morning in Malibu after a vehicle struck and hit them, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at 6:35 a.m. near the intersection with Cross Creek Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The driver remained at the scene.

All lanes in the area were shut down Friday morning with no estimated time for reopening. It appeared that a semi-truck was involved, according to KTLA 5’s Mike Case.

No additional details were immediately given, including any information regarding the victim.

The Pepperdine Graphic, the university’s student-run newspaper, reported that no members of the Pepperdine community appear to be involved.

The crash was reminiscent of last year’s collision that killed four Pepperdine students just 2.5 miles down PCH from Friday’s collision site. Four women, identified as Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir and Deslyn Williams, died after they were hit by 22-year-old driver Fraser Michael Bohm near the 21600 block of PCH.

Bohm was charged with four counts of murder and four counts of manslaughter with gross negligence. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
