The UPS driver who was shot and killed inside his truck in Orange County on Thursday has been identified.

The driver was Expedito Cuesta De Leon, 50, from Aliso Viejo, KTLA’s Chip Yost has learned.

The shooting at Chrysler and Bendix streets in Irvine occurred around 3 p.m., when police say a masked gunman pulled up alongside De Leon’s truck and opened fire. The gunman fled without ever getting out of his vehicle, police added.

De Leon was declared dead at the scene.

The suspected shooter was taken into custody later that afternoon, though his identity has not been released.
