Two people died in a rollover crash on the 605 Freeway in the Avocado Heights area of Los Angeles Friday.
The crash occurred just after 7:30 a.m. as the vehicle was traveling southbound on the 605 Freeway approaching the transition lanes to the 60 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident page.
Aerial video from Sky5 showed the badly damaged car had gone off the side of the freeway before apparently crashing into a tree and a chain link fence.
Two people inside the car were pronounced dead at the scene, said Officer S. Brandt with the CHP.
A SigAlert was issued for the closure of the right lane on the southbound side of the freeway at 7:50 a.m.
It was unknown if anyone else was inside the car at the time of the crash.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
