In a city that’s used to the shining stars and bright lights, Los Angeles will be the center of the running world on Sunday as the 39th running of the Los Angeles Marathon, presented by ASICS, takes the stage.
As a result, many roads along the 26.2-mile course starting at Dodger Stadium are scheduled to be closed on March 17. The route treks through downtown Los Angeles, Chinatown, Olvera Street, Little Tokyo, Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, Route 66 and ends at the Avenue of the Stars in Century City.
Roads will be closed to the public for the event as early as 3 a.m. on Sunday. They include roads along the route. A map of closures can be found below:

Along with the fully closed roads along the entire course, several streets will be local access only, meaning only residents can access these roads since they aren’t on the race course. Residents can ask for local access at the traffic closure.

The 39th L.A. Marathon will be aired live exclusively on KTLA 5 from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday. Online, viewers can watch the race on KTLA.com, the KTLA 5 mobile app, KTLA’s YouTube channel, or the KTLA+ streaming app for Roku, Fire TV and Apple TV.
