Arson investigators were at the scene of a “stubborn attic fire” that damaged an Arleta home Monday morning, and displaced seven residents along with their dog, fire officials said.
About 54 firefighters worked 38 minutes to contain the fire at a 4,234-square-foot home in the 9200 block of Dorrington Place (map), according to a Los Angeles Fire Department alert around 3 a.m.
Smoke alarms woke up the residents, giving the six adults, one child and dog time to exit the home before firefighters arrived or anyone sustained injury, on-scene officials said.
The fire was believed to have started in the home’s attic, and was contained to the single structure.
The cause was being investigated.
Cost of damage was also being assessed.
