An iconic statue of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was found Monday, more than a week after it was stolen from Rolling Hills Estates neighborhood where the hand-crafted reindeer had been a holiday fixture for decades.

The 200-pound statue disappeared from atop a city sign in the Ranchview neighborhood on Dec. 12.

On Monday, sheriff’s deputies following up on a tip from a KTLA viewer located the wooden statue on the roof of a mobile home in Gardena.

A man at the home was arrested for possession of stolen property, according to Sgt. Mark Moffett with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

Moffett said the man was a gardener who worked in the area where the statute disappeared.

“He claimed to have found it … and confirmed that it came from that area,” Moffett said.
