Officers responded to the school’s campus at 1401 Fremont Ave. about 12:15 p.m. to conduct an assault and battery investigation after a 14-year-old student was found “disoriented,” the South Pasadena Police Department said in a news release.

During the investigation, a 16-year-old student told police that he confronted the teen at lunch time after hearing that he had allegedly bullied his two younger brothers, the release stated.

A fight ensued, and the older student is accused of punching the younger student an unknown amount of times in the face during the physical altercation, according to police.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the 14-year-old boy to the hospital for treatment.

The 16-year-old boy was arrested and taken to the department’s station, where he was cited and later released to his parents, police said.

Authorities have not identified the juveniles involved in the incident.

The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to call South Pasadena Police Department detectives at 626-403-7280.
