Five people were injured after at least one person opened fire during a private party hosted by R&B star Chris Brown at a San Jose nightclub early Sunday, according to television station KRON.
The San Francisco-based station reported that the shooting occurred around 1:20 a.m. at the Fiesta Nightclub located at 3840 Monterey Highway.
Four of the victims were located at the club, while a fifth person went to the hospital on their own.
None of the injuries were considered to be life-threatening, according to KRON. At last report, they were all listed in stable condition.
Several people were detained in connection with the incident, the San Jose Mercury News reported.
Brown, who was not injured, was performing at the time shots rang out, video from the scene showed.
This was the second time in less than five months that a shooting occurred at an event hosted by Chris Brown. Last August, Death Row Records Marion “Suge” Knight was among three people shot at the 10ak nightclub in West Hollywood.
Brown had posted to social media that he was holding an event ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards, which was held the next day at The Forum in Inglewood.
There was no reported connection between the two incidents.
A motive for the latest shooting was not immediately known.
