The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in locating a motorist involved in a physical altercation that left a second person badly injured in the median of a Southern California freeway.
Authorities say the violence broke out on Tuesday around 3 p.m. in the southbound lanes of State Route 23 at Avenida De Los Arboles.
When officers with CHP Moorpark arrived in the area, they located a male victim suffering from “major injuries in the center median of the freeway,” the Simi Valley Police Department said in a post to social media.
The other involved driver had already fled the scene.
In a photo released by CHP, investigators can be seen canvassing for evidence in the area where the victim was discovered.
No update on the victim’s condition was provided.
CHP’s Moorpark Area Station is asking anyone who may have witnessed the fight or who may have dashcam footage of the incident to contact its Ventura Communications Center at 805-477-4174.
