Police were searching a South L.A. neighborhood Monday morning for a man suspected in a Fairfax-area burglary that led to a pursuit and the arrest of multiple other alleged burglars, LAPD officials said.
The search began after the burglary was reported in the 400 block of North Fairfax Avenue (map) around 5:04 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman said.
Responding officers spotted six to eight men fleeing the burglary scene in a vehicle and began to chase them about 5:11 a.m.
The vehicle caught fire, ending the pursuit several miles away and about seven minutes later near Western Avenue and West 24th Street (map), in the Adams-Normandie neighborhood of South L.A., Eisenman said.
The men fled the vehicle on foot, and all but one alleged burglar was apprehended by police.
Police continued searching for one man and said no one had been injured in the incident.
