A Reseda man has been arrested in connection with the fatal beating of his girlfriend, following a history of domestic violence, police said Friday.

The incident happened around 10:50 a.m. Thursday on the 7500 block of Enfield Avenue in Reseda and resulted in the arrest of Ricardo Sauz, 35, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a news release. Sauz is also the father of the victim’s 8-year-old child, police reported.

Sauz confessed during an interview with detectives, according to police, and said he caused his 30-year-old girlfriend’s death.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim sustained blunt force injuries that led to her death.

Sauz was arrested on suspicion of murder and was expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, officials said. His bail is set at $2 million.

L.A. County booking records show that Sauz has been arrested three other times this year.
