A person, believed to be a teenager, is recovering Thursday after being shot on the 10 Freeway in East Los Angeles late Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP learned of the shooting around 11 p.m. It was believed to have occurred in the eastbound lanes of the 10 near the 710 and 60 freeway transitions.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle before being transported to Keck Medicine of USC by ambulance. The condition of the victim was not immediately clear Thursday morning.

The victim’s truck, a white Ram pickup, had visible bullet holes at the scene.

The shooting remained under investigation on Thursday. So far, a suspect has not yet been identified.
