BREA, Calif. (KTLA) — A high school math teacher accused of having sex with a minor was arrested after a parent contacted investigators, the Brea Police Department announced Friday.

Michele Lynn Johnson, 45, was taken into custody at her home in Anaheim on Wednesday, police said.

Johnson, a teacher at Brea Olinda High School, allegedly had sexual contact with the minor on several occasions.

Brea detectives began to investigate Johnson after they were contacted by the alleged victim’s father June 12.

Johnson was arrested and booked on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor after detectives interviewed her at her home.

She posted bail and was released.

Authorities were working with the Brea Olinda Unified School District to be sure Johnson had no further contact with students, according to police.
