Police in Santa Cruz were searching Tuesday for a bank robber dubbed the “Mrs. Doubtfire” bandit.
The bandit, wearing a woman’s wig and carrying a handbag, robbed the U.S. Bank branch on Morrissey Boulevard around 3 p.m. on Friday, according to a news release from the San Cruz Police Department.
The robber used a note demanding money, the release stated. No weapon was seen.
About an hour before the bank robbery, employees at the Rabo Bank on Mission Drive reported seeing the same man who was described as “acting suspicious,” police stated in the release.
In this case, the man left the bank without committing any criminal act.
The robber was described as between 25 and 35 years old, 160 to 170 pounds, standing 5 foot 5 inches tall.
The suspect was wearing prescription glasses, a wavy blond wig, navy blue scrubs, and a light purple long sleeve undershirt.
Anyone who recognizes the man was asked to call the Santa Cruz Police Department at 831-420-5995.
