Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene after fatally striking a motorcyclist in the Mid-City neighborhood of Los Angeles Sunday night.

The crash occurred on South Fairfax Avenue and Electric Drive around 10:20 p.m, the Los Angeles Police Department stated in a news release

A black, 4-door sedan was driving northbound on Fairfax Avenue and turning onto the westbound 10 Freeway when it struck a 2023 Kawasaki ZX-6R motorcycle traveling southbound on Fairfax Avenue.

The motorcyclist was ejected and landed on the roadway, where he was found by arriving officers.

Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced the motorcyclist, described by a Police Department spokesperson as a 22-year-old man, dead.

The driver of the black sedan fled the scene in an unknown direction.
