More than 10,100 Southern California Edison customers across four counties are without power Friday night as weather conditions created elevated risks for fire.
Five fires continue to burn in The San Fernando Valley and Riverside County Friday, but the agency is implementing public safety power shutoffs in an effort to prevent further issues.
The National Weather Service on Friday extended a red flag warning for the mountain and valley communities of Los Angeles and Ventura counties through Saturday afternoon.
Earlier Friday, power had been shut off for 20,664 customers.

Data on areas still without power wasn’t immediately available, according to SCE, but earlier those still affected by shutoffs included:
Ventura (6,300 customers)
- Camarillo
- Santa Paula
- Simi Valley
- Ventura
Kern County (3,000 customers)
- Tehachapi
- Unincorporated areas including Bird Springs, Horse Canyon, Loraine, Sand Canyon and Twin Oaks
Los Angeles County (20 customers)
- Santa Clarita
- Unincorporated communities of Chatsworth
San Bernardino County (800 customers)
- Fontana
- Rancho Cucamonga
- Unincorporated communities of Etiwanda and Crestline
