Investigators with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Wednesday in a room at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, authorities said.

The man’s body was found in a conference room with a gun nearby, Bay Area station KGO-TV reported. Paramedics had been dispatched to the campus about 8:35 a.m. after a report of a man with a “head wound,” but were called off before going into the building, said Santa Clara County Fire Department spokeswoman Stephanie Stuehler.

“After further investigation it appeared there was no foul play and no other individuals were involved,” Santa Clara County sheriff’s Sgt. Andrea Urena told the Los Angeles Times in an email. “This appeared to be an isolated incident and no employees or members of the public are at risk.”

Apple did not immediately return a request for comment. Officials have not confirmed if the deceased was an Apple employee.
