Police are investigating after a man vandalized a church and several businesses in the San Fernando Valley overnight. 

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the original call regarding a man with a baseball bat breaking windows near Sherman Way and Canoga Avenue in Canoga Park shortly after 11:45 p.m. Monday. 

Several alarms in the area were also triggered, LAPD said. 

The vandalized businesses, seemingly attacked randomly, included a junk removal company, two heating and cooling companies and an antique store. Broken glass remained scattered in front of the antique store more than five hours after the vandalism spree. 

The church, Iglesia de Dios Camino de Santidad, also sustained broken windows, video shows. 

By the time police officers responded to the area, the suspect had fled the scene.  After canvassing the area for hours, they could not find him, and he remains outstanding. 

The suspect is a Black man in unknown clothing, LAPD confirmed.
