An investigation was underway after a man was stabbed to death late Saturday night in South El Monte, authorities said.

The incident took place about 11:30 p.m. at a home in the 11200 block of Broadmead Street (map), the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a news release from the department. His name was not disclosed.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives were investigating the stabbing.

No other information was immediately released.
