The victim, initially described as a man in his mid-30s, was taken to a hospital in serious condition, officials said.

He was driving through the parking lot when he was shot by an attacker in another vehicle, according to police and witnesses.

The victim succumbed to his injuries a short time later, officials said.

Police described the shooting as a drive-by attack believed to have involved a white car, possible a Volkswagen Jetta.

A man who did not want his name published said he had just entered the parking lot and crossed paths with the victim when he heard a single popping noise.

After parking his car, the witness said he heard another person yelling, “he got shot.”

The victim was sitting, hunched over, inside the car, the witness said.

No further details, including a motive, were available Friday night.
