A 32-year-old man was shot and killed Monday afternoon in the Harvard Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles, the LAPD said.

The shooting occurred about 12:15 p.m. in the area of 62nd Street and Harvard Boulevard, said Officer Mike Lopez, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Lopez said. He was not immediately identified.

The shooter fled the location in an unknown vehicle, according to investigators.

No other information was immediately available.
