Angelenos who can’t get enough of their furry friends may be in luck.
The city of Los Angeles may soon raise the cap on how many dogs a household can have, increasing from three to four, as reported by LAist.
The move would align with the county’s four-dog limit, which has been in place since 2017, but it’s primarily intended to help with the overcrowding plaguing animal shelters.
Multiple shelters are operating at more than double their capacity, and with a higher limit, increased adoptions could lessen the overcrowding.
If adoptions fail to reduce the numbers enough, shelters may have to euthanize the animals.
