A fire erupted overnight in Pico Rivera leaving a local Shakey’s restaurant in need of repair Thursday morning.

The blaze was reported around 2 a.m. in the area of Whittier Boulevard and Durfee Avenue, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department told KTLA.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire coming from the roof of the single-story building.

It took firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which was contained to the southeast side of the restaurant, the spokesperson said.

No further details were given on the extent of the damage.

Investigators had not yet determined the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
