The Long Beach Airport was on lockdown for about one hour Wednesday as officials investigated an unattended bag, airport officials confirmed.

The airport — located at 4100 Donald Douglas Dr. — was put on lockdown around 10:45 a.m.

Police dogs alerted staff to an unattended bag, leading to the lockdown, said Cassie Chauvel, with the Long Beach Airport.

About an hour later, airport officials said the area was cleared.

“Authorities have cleared the area in question and operations have returned to normal. Check your airline for any delays or cancelations,” the airport tweeted.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials had also responded to the scene.
