The crash occurred about 12:10 a.m. near the intersection of Pershing Drive and West Manchester Avenue, the airport’s Police Department tweeted.

The officer was injured and taken to a local hospital following the crash, said Officer Pedregon with the Police Department.

The injured officer was treated for fractured wrists, abrasions and contusions, but was conscious and breathing, the Police Department tweeted.

Four people inside the vehicle that struck the officer fled following the crash, Pedregon said.

All four were eventually detained, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and possible DUI, Pedregon said.

The other three occupants were released, Pedregon said.
