A citywide tactical alert issued due to an illegal demonstration outside Los Angeles City Hall was canceled early Tuesday morning. 

Pro-Palestinian protesters had set up an encampment consisting of about 20 tents near the corner of First and Spring streets around 9 p.m. Monday. 

Around an hour and a half later, LAPD confirmed to KTLA that they had issued a citywide tactical alert and officers converged on the area.

Video from Sky5 showed the row of tents lined up along the sidewalk, but the encampment was eventually dismantled by police hours after it was erected and all the protesters’ gear was confiscated. 

The citywide tactical alert was canceled around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, LAPD said. 

There was no immediate word on whether any arrests were made.
