Los Angeles firefighters battled a brush fire in Griffith Park on Sunday night, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
LAFD ground and air response were called to the 0.75-acre fire in the 2800 block of Observatory Drive around 6:56 p.m.
The medium to heavy density blaze was near the Observatory Trail, east of the Griffith Observatory and “well above” the Greek Theatre where an Evanescence concert was scheduled for 8 p.m., authorities said in an alert.
Firefighters and park rangers were able to extinguish active flames by 7:37 p.m. primarily due to a lack of wind and precise water drops from LAFD helicopters, authorities said.
No structures were threatened and no evacuations were issued.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities added.
