L.A. County firefighter from Station 8 rescued a dog who had become wedged between a home and a retaining wall in West Hollywood on Sunday.

Firefighters received the call around 3:39 p.m. that a dog was trapped in the 9000 block of Lloyd Place, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Randy Wright.

When crews arrived the found the pet stuck in a six to seven-inch gap between the two walls, Wright said.

Each time the dog took a breath, he’d fall deeper inside, according to Wright.

So firefighters tied ropes around him to try to keep him stable.

And once the frightened dog calmed down, firefighters were able to wiggle him out of the tight spot.

The dog was returned to his owner, Wright said.

It was not know if the animal suffered any injuries during his ordeal.
