The fatal shooting of a man in the Florence-Firestone neighborhood of South Los Angeles Saturday afternoon is under investigation by homicide detectives, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim, who has not been identified, was shot about 2:41 p.m. in the 9400 block of Juniper Street, sheriff’s officials said. He was found with at least one gunshot wound to his upper torso before being rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No other details have been released as authorities continue to investigate.
