Four large white sharks were seen circling swimmers off of the Manhattan Beach Pier on Sunday morning, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Lifeguards initially received a report around 10:30 a.m. that four juvenile sharks had been spotted off the pier, according to a tweet from the agency.

The sharks were “circling swimmers,” according to a news release. They were last seen swimming south toward Hermosa Beach by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department helicopter.

The sighting comes about 10 days after a shark was spotted near swimmers in Manhattan Beach. In that particular instance, lifeguards determined there was no threat to the public.

However, earlier this summer, a male swimmer was injured after a shark bit him in the same area.

No further information about the sighting was provided.
