A former basketball coach at the Albert Einstein Academy in Santa Clarita was sentenced Thursday to 17 years, eight months in state prison after pleading no contest to sexually molesting six boys over a period of four years.

Randolph Jackson, 29, pleaded no contest to a total of nine counts, including one felony count each of continuous sexual abuse, oral copulation of a person under 16 and lewd act on a child, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

In addition, Jackson pleaded to six misdemeanor charges, including four counts of indecent exposure and two counts of child molesting.

Jackson was taken into custody in Washington D.C., on a felony complaint filed Feb. 13 charging him with a total of 20 counts in connection with the crimes, the District Attorney’s Office stated previously.

He was suspected of molesting 5 boys between the ages of 13 and 17 at various locations in Los Angeles between November 2010 and January 2015, Deputy DA Reinhold Mueller stated.

In May, Jackson admitted molesting a sixth boy as well, Mueller said. Jackson met the victims while working as a basketball coach at two separate schools.

He was also was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
